Completed the sea glass pendant at last. I decided a braided necklace of seed beads and gem chips worked better than a leather thong or a traditional chain. With spring finally here and fruit trees starting to blossom in the garden I have also made a couple more tree of Life pendants. The Peridot ones always seem the most popular.
The warm spring weather from the early part of the week seems to have disappeared today. I had intended to spend the day beating silver in my studio. Instead I stayed in the warmth and finally have got round to adding new stock to my online shop.
I have had a busy month. I had commissions for moon gazing hare pendants. I have also been playing with sea glass that I collected on my walks along the local West Wight beaches. The beginning of the month I attended an enamelling taster day at the Quay Arts Centre, so hope to start combining some new techniques in my jewellery.
Finally got to my studio yesterday and managed to complete three pair of earrings. A brass spiral pair with blue Bohemian crystal beads and gold fill wires. A pair of Sterling silver and Moss Agate hearts and a Sterling silver and Lapis pair. Hopefully, when the sun has melted the ice I will have a more productive day today.
Well made a start on sorting my studio out yesterday. I am also waiting impatiently for an order of Lapis beads. I have ideas buzzing around my head and my fingers are itching to make a start on new spring designs.
I have been promising myself to start a blog for ages but life keeps getting in the way. So as this is the first day of a brand New Year, now is a good time to start. My site is looking a little neglected lately. Hopefully with only five more days to twelfth night I can dispel the gloom of January by getting out into my studio and doing what I love, bending metal and gems into pieces to replenish my stock.
